The City of Canyon strives to provide a quality of services that the citizens of Canyon both deserve and expect while keeping within the adopted budget.  The budget that is adopted annually is done so with consideration to the residents of Canyon in respect to their tax burden and the quality of life provided.  The Annual Financial Report for the Year Ended September 30, 2011, and the 2012-2013 budget are available for download. (These are large files, download time will vary depending on your computer).  
 
Work on the Annual Budget begins as early as January of each year for the Finance Director with Budget Work Sessions beginning in July.  The proposed budget for 2012-2013 was presented at the July 23, 2012 Commission Meeting. 

The City of Canyon is proposing to raise property taxes by 1.5% above the effective tax rate.  Public hearings on the budget will be held August 20 and August 27, 2012 both at 5:30 pm in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, 301 16th Street.
